Roses with Fruit

I just finished this one and I think, I have to say, this is my favorite of all my paintings so far. Probably for the fact that I love peach but I really like it. I don't always feel like that. This one isn't for sale.

So I'm sure everyone is super busy with shopping, parties, and decorating for Christmas! I'm excited for my daughter to come home from college. She'll be here for almost a month. It's going to be great and we always have fun!

I've had a ton of mammos; got my first at age 35 as a baseline. Don't know if I'd do that now; it's just what some of us did back in the 1980s. The older I get, the less I want to get them now, but I seem to be that way about all of my medical appointments lately (don't take my lead!). I don't want to say anything too erroneous about what I know too little of, but I personally have been told it can be hard to find a lump on a mammo if the breast tissue is too dense, like looking for a snowball in a snowstorm, and dense breast tissue can be common in a "younger" patient, I'm guessing the 40s age group as opposed to, say, the 60s age group. But it's dangerous to listen to somebody like me; my info could be all wrong. Why not call your doctor about it to relieve your mind? Certainly she or he ordered the mammo; they could explain why the radiologist wants another view. They could give you the intelligent, scientific and medical lowdown.

My mom had a lump in the 1970s and went under the knife not knowing if she'd wake up with a mastectomy or not. The lump was removed and it was benign. Some 37 years later, she's never had another lump and she's pushing age 90.

That's all I can tell you. I'm so sorry you're having to be worried about it.

The painting is beautiful, Jennifer! I love the lavender backgound and how it looks with the peach blooms; just an explosion of lush, rich color. Wonderful job!

Thanks Vicki! It really does help to hear other stories and situations. I tend to worry about things anyway. The Dr. said it was because of the dense tissue that they couldn't read it so I shouldn't worry. Thanks so much for replying and trying to ease my mind. Take care!

Hi Jennifer....I, too, have had to have an ultrasound after a mamo.....it turned out to be a nothing....and I feel yours will be the same. Try not to worry.
